Camper Committee
Join the GCC Camper Committee!
If you are a junior or senior in high school and have attended at least one GCC session, you qualify to apply to be part of the 2023 GCC Camper Committee. As a member of the Camper Committee, you become an important part of guiding the future of camp through ideas and input - then helping make them a reality.
Camper Committee members work closely with GCC staff and directors to represent the collective camper voice, influencing a positive, inclusive culture at camp. Committee members will participate in leadership development, exciting aspects of camp planning (like helping design GCC merchandise!), and planning creative social media campaigns for GCC platforms. Members will also gain valuable experience in events, like working with the GCC staff to plan and volunteer at events.

GCC staff are happy to serve as references for future jobs, education, or leadership opportunities.
Hours served on Camper Committee may count toward school-required community service hours and can be certified by GCC leadership.
While it is not required for committee members to apply for a GCC staff position, serving on the Camper Committee provides relevant experience for those who wish to apply for a GCC staff position, when eligible.
Gives you the opportunity to represent the interests, concerns, and overall voice of campers.
Allows you to play a direct role in the growth, development, and future of GCC.
Is a chance to spend time working with peers with T1D and the awesome GCC staff!
Application Requirements
Must be a current junior or senior in high school.
Must have attended at least one GCC session.
Must have an understanding of and passion for GCC's mission.
Must be able to commit to attending monthly meetings, either in person or virtually (first week of each month, January through June).
Selected applicants will be expected to attend at least one promotional event for GCC within a given term on the committee (Examples: Community events, Camp Cleanup, virtual campaign, etc.).
Members will serve one term at a time and may be eligible to apply for a second term.
Like staff members, Camper Committee members must sign an agreement that they will abide by GCC's Code of Conduct and represent GCC in a positive light at all times.
ALL campers meeting these requirements are eligible to apply. There is no fee associated with serving on Camper Committee. Financial aid to ensure equitable participation may be available.
