GCC and JDRF Working Together
At GCC we’re all about Camping Until There is a Cure! Our diabetes partner who is doing the work of finding that that cure is the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. JDRF is holding their Annual HOPE Gala on Saturday, April 27th, 2024, at the Sentinel Hotel. GCC has always donated a One Week Campership package and some awesome GCC Swag to JDRF for the silent auction.
JDRF uses an electronic bidding platform to bid on silent auction packages at the Gala. This platform allows remote bidding for anyone not able to attend the event in person. This is an opportunity for you to help support JDRF and purchase a 2024 or 2025 Camp Registration for your camper AND/OR possibly to donate it back to GCC for a camper in need. Another Opportunity to Support JDRF and Honor Your Favorite T1D Camper Create an Inspired HOPE Basket to donate for the silent auction. These family baskets reflect the inspired individual and can include tickets to an event (Timbers, Hillsboro Hops, etc), toys and activities (LEGO extravaganza, Family Game Night, etc), electronics, or an experience of some sort. JDRF groups the Inspired HOPE baskets under a large screen during the silent auction and honors each T1D by creating a plaque with the information that you provide and places it next to the donated basket.
A slideshow scrolls through each plaque on the large screen attracting bidders to the baskets during the silent auction as well as scrolling through them during dinner in the ballroom. This important feature helps focus attendees at the event, many who do not have a direct tie to Type 1 Diabetes, why they are there and raising money. For an example of the plaque, the 2023 Inspired package created for Cassie McCready is below.
T1D HOPE Baskets for JDRF Gala and Auction Create a HOPE Basket honoring your T1D!
Your donation basket/package can be:
1. A single item such as sports tickets to their favorite team (Timbers, Thorns, Blazers, Mariners, etc)
2. A Variety of items that relate to a theme or passion that is important to your T1D (Art, Reading, Cooking, Camping, Sports, etc.)

What You Need to Know:

2. Basket/Package should be in the $150 value
3. Your Basket/Package should be contained in a tote, basket, or other suitable container for the auction unless it is only a gift certificate or tickets.
4. JDRF volunteers will format the information that you have provided about the T1D
inspiration into a uniform format for the Wall of Hope presentation.
5. Fill out the following online donation form required for administrative purposes:
